The Fanwood Foundation was founded by U.C. Berkeley alums Sandor and Faye Straus in 1998. Sandor was a mathematics and computer science teacher in Germany and in New York, and he has done financial modeling and investing for Renaissance Technology Corp. He is now President of the financial consulting firm Merfin, LLC.
